Dear Friends,
Our journey with The Encore Musical Theatre Company has been one of love, dedication, and a shared dream. When we moved to Dexter in 2019, we didn’t just relocate our family—we committed our lives to continuing to build something truly special here in Southeast Michigan.
The Encore is more than a theatre to us. It’s a place where stories come to life, where artists thrive, and where audiences of all ages find joy and inspiration. We’ve seen how this stage can transform lives—whether it’s a young actor finding their voice, an audience member being moved to tears, or a family sharing an evening of unforgettable entertainment together.
However, this work isn’t something we can do alone. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generous support of our community to continue bringing top-quality musical productions to Dexter. Your gift today ensures that we can hire the best talent, provide enriching educational experiences, and maintain our beautiful space in the historic Copeland school building.

Jessica Grové
Jessica most recently performed on The Encore’s stage last season in Into The Woods and has also been seen as Eliza in My Fair Lady, and Eva Perón in Evita (The Encore’s inaugural production in 2009). Her Broadway credits include Les Misérables, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Sunday in the Park with George, A Little Night Music, and The Wizard of Oz. She proudly serves as The Encore’s director of marketing. She is honored to be a part of the community of Dexter, where she lives with her husband of almost 15 years, Dan Cooney, and their children Gavin (13), Lolly (8), and Stella-doodle (1).
Dan Cooney
Dan is a co-founder and the artistic director of The Encore. He has directed and performed in many Encore productions and concerts throughout the years, including Evita, Fun Home, and most recently, Dan & Friends. However, he might be best known for his warm greetings from the stage prior to most performances. His Broadway credits include Les Misérables, Mamma Mia, 9 to 5, and Bonnie & Clyde.
