Sound Technician/A2- Sense and Sensibility  

The A2 leads with microphones, microphone cables, lavalier mics, speakers and a host of other audio equipment backstage, making sure that all is working properly and effectively.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare soundboards and equipment for rehearsals and shows

  • Set up microphones on performers and in various places in the theater

  • Repairing and reporting sound equipment to the Sound Engineer (A1) 

  • In the even of the A1 is absent, the A2 takes place as the “understudy”

  • Maintaining effective communication with Sound Engineer/A1, Stage Management and other crew members to ensure smooth installation and operation of sound department needs on a production

  • Assist with additional run crew responsibilities as determined by the Stage Manager

  • Show Schedule (excluding Thursday Feb. 27th which is a 7:30pm performance)

Crew/Mic Tech- Annie, Sense and Sensibility, Importance of Being Earnest, West Side Story

Mic Technician is crucial to the successful audio operation of mic’d shows. This role requires a multi-talented individual that has experience with wireless microphones in a live setting. Quick thinking and reaction time are imperative, as time is of the essence if something stops functioning properly midway through performance. The position will also assist in daily setup.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to A1 / Sound Engineer for daily setup at rehearsals and performances.

  • Battery up and check wireless microphones pre-show.

  • Wire up and ensure actors microphone rigs are placed properly pre-show and at intermission.  

  • Perform emergency mic swaps in the event that a piece of equipment goes down. 

  • Microphone maintenance (cleaning, paint match touch up) as needed. 

  • Open communication with Sound Engineer/A1 and Sound Technician/A2 nightly to ensure that musician audio needs are satisfied. 

  • Assist with additional run crew responsibilities as determined by the Stage Manager.
