Tony Award winner, Alice Ripley, joins The Rosie O’Donnell Show’s John McDaniel for a “Cabaret at The Encore” special event.
The pair will perform highlights from Ms. Ripley’s many Broadway shows including Les Misérables, Sunset Boulevard, Side Show and more!
Alice Ripley received the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her performance as Diana Goodman in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal. A Broadway veteran, Ms. Ripley has appeared in eight original Broadway casts, including SUNSET BOULEVARD, THE WHO’S TOMMY, and SIDE SHOW, which earned her a Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Ms. Ripley’s television credits include guest starring on 30 Rock, Blue Bloods, Girlboss, Inventing Anna, and Royal Pains. Film: SUGAR!, Isn’t It Delicious, The Adulterer, Fever, Sing Along.
John McDaniel returns to The Encore for the third time (previously appearing at the piano with The Phantom of the Opera’s Hugh Panaro and Broadway’s Jessica Grové). Mr. McDaniel is a Grammy and Emmy Award winning Music Director, Composer, Director, Arranger, Orchestrator, Producer, and is an Artistic Director at the Tony Award winning Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Most recently, John music directed and orchestrated Carol Burnett’s 90th Birthday Special on NBC. Broadway credits include BONNIE AND CLYDE (Drama Desk Nomination, Best Orchestrations), CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, BROOKLYN (Producer and Orchestrator), ANNIE GET YOUR GUN (Grammy Award), TABOO, CHICAGO, GREASE, PATTI LUPONE ON BROADWAY and COMPANY – the Original Cast in Concert at Lincoln Center. On Television: The Rosie O’Donnell Show (2 Emmy Awards, 8 nominations). John has collaborated with Cab Calloway, Shirley MacLaine, George Burns, Joel Grey, Betty Buckley, Bette Midler, Shirley Jones, Katy Perry, and has guest conducted at 15 Symphony Orchestras across America.
